The D.I.V.O Institute o.s. www.divoinstitute.org
is a non profit organisation which promotes contemporary art and culture exchange in Central - Bohemian region. It is situated in a one-hundred-year-old, four-story villa set in the centre of Kolin, an attractive town of some historic importance forty minutes away from Prague by train. The basement hosts temporary exhibitions, workshops and concerts.
The «Sammlung Hauser und Wir», inhabited sculpture and Czech contemporary art are situated on the ground floor. On the first and second floor and in the attic are several rooms for the use of guest-artists. In the spring and summer, outdoor exhibitions, festivals and musical events take place in the garden.
The D.I.V.O institute has realized several large international projects such as the 5th DADA festival in Kolín and Prague 2008 and was taking part in SUBVISION kunst.off.festival in Hamburg in September 2009 and various projects in off spaces in Zürich, Bern and Thun. In March 2010 Institute took part in the Kunstparade Winterthur andin JUly 2010, D.I.V.O institute produces a two week long festival in Kunsthalle Fridericianum, Kassel, Germany.
